PlayStation All Stars Battle Royale (PSASBR)

I have a sad feeling that this is going to end up being a terrible rip off
Though I love SSB.

If this does happen, I'm hoping it is more like SSB and not Mortal Kombat or Street Fighter. I've never been a fan of fighting games at all except for SSB (with random weapons, not for competing or 1 on 1).

I don't even know how to picture that in my mind to be honest.

So leaked images have been out for a while and Sony is registering for websites for Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale and on the next Thrusday's GTTV on Spike they're going to be showing exclusive footage of a major unannounced PS exclusive game which is probably this. Of course they're going to hype it up like crazy and then show literally 5 seconds of footage in the half hour late-late night show like they always do.

Hopefully there is some gameplay to show off. I've never played SSB, how is it different than Mortal Kombat or Street Fighter?

I'm not really an expert on the intricacies of either of them, but look up any SSB gameplay video and it sums it up pretty quickly.
Zoomed farther out with the ability to move and jump around a 2D level with platforms at different heights instead of just flat ground. Also, items. Lots and lots of items to use in combat.

Oh my god, I wasn't sure how much it was going to be like SSB, but I don't even get how this is even legal!

They're mixing 2 game themes together for each of their levels... Kind of wish this had stuck with just one game theme per level.

Maybe it was just the vid I saw on the PS Blog, but this didn't really interest me too much. I could barely even tell who the characters were, except Fat Princess stood out
. It just didn't really look like something I'd play a lot of. I'll have to see how this shapes up I guess.

It looks like imbd claims to have a character list. It might be bull though.

Unsuprisingly, it's probably coming to the Vita.

Holy crap I got an email with a code for the beta. The file size is surprisingly, or sadly, pretty small. 350mb
(I also finally decided to enter my code for LBP Karting... Not valid. I think the beta is over?
)

Yeah I got a Beta code for PSASBR too, I'm interested to try it out - it's going to have to be pretty damn fun for me to buy it I think. Or maybe the Vita version, I don't know. It just isn't hitting me as a must have. I'm thankful for the chance to try the beta though!
oh yeah, lbp karting beta is over now

to include sackboy and R&C...
http://blog.us.playstation.com/2012/08/14/playstation-all-stars-gamescom-reveal-dante-sackboy-spike-ratchet-and-clank/
the sell point for me might be...
We’re also really excited about the promotional pricing announcement for PlayStation All-Stars that was made at today’s press conference. For all of you that purchase the PlayStation 3 version of PlayStation All-Stars – at retail or digitally through the PlayStation Network – you will be able to download the PS Vita version of PlayStation All-Stars from the PS Network at no additional cost. How awesome is that?!? Now you’ll be able to experience all of the great cross-save and cross-play features that PlayStation All-Stars has to offer on both the PS3 and PS Vita at one great price. So if you haven’t pre-ordered your copy yet, perhaps this news will pique your interest.
