I'm liking how unique the moves are looking.  Though Ratchet's wrench attacks are slow.  There's no bottomless pits... probably the best part about SSB is knocking people off and you can't do that in this game.  :-\

speaking of which - here's info on the R&C game.  Which actually, interests me a bit more than the PSASBR game/deal.  Also - have you tried the beta of PSASBR?  I haven't entered the code yet to download.  I'm a bit concerned that it wouldn't get played much and I still feel like the novelty of seeing the characters together would wane for me.  I guess there isn't any "story" mode so it's just battle arena gameplay, right?

It's interesting it says you can buy either copy PS3 or Vita and get the other free.  Great if that really means buying a $40 Vita game and get the deal vs. $60 PS3 game for the deal.  That might help move some Vitas with this pricing.  I like the cross save and cross play for MP.  Nice touch indeed.

so recent character announcments include Evil Cole, Raiden, Nariko, and the MedEvil skeleton dude.  I'm getting more and more interested in this, Nariko is a great addition.  Plus the whole Cross-buy with cross-save and cross-play is a pretty sweet deal...  hmmm.

I folded and ordered this  :P  Amazon had a $5 off promotion and of course it comes with the PS3 and Vita versions.  It'll probably get more play on my Vita tbh, and I could've bought just the Vita version for $20 less, but the whole cross-buy incentive worked for me.

I was told by a gamestop employee that Sony said PSASBR had one of the biggest surges in pre-orders the day they announced the cross-buy initiative and that supposedly 3rd party publishers are looking into it now.  That would be nice.  I definitely want some exclusive Vita only games on it, but anything that allows for more games and more options on the Vita is a good thing, especially if the pricing is nice.

I'm still a bit concerned that the blast of light when hits are landed is too much and will take away from seeing the characters and their moves, but I felt good enough to go for it.  This should be a fun couch co-op game as well.

I'm not sure.  I never tried the Beta actually myself.

PS+ get into the "open" beta tomorrow while everybody gets in next Tuesday.  Kinda curious if I get it tomorrow since I technically have a previous beta, but I doubt it.

All Vita owners get in the beta too actually.  I'm looking forward to trying it out both on PS3 and Vita.  Since everyone gets in next Tuesday it seems like they are really pushing this.  I never tried the other beta so let's hope I like it seeing as I've already pre-ordered.  Seems like a great game for the Vita actually and cross-buy is pretty sweet deal.

Cross-save is nice too.

Tried this on Vita and on PS3.  It is very tough to do well.  My biggest complaint is what I originally feared from the screen shots - it's hard to see what's going on and I keep losing who I am.  You kind of need to see what color you reference is "P1", "P2", etc. and keep an eye on that rather than your character.  The problem comes in that the color your text is changes every match.  I'd rather always be red or whatever because I keep forgetting.

Regardless of that I also wind up following the wrong character lol.  It happens less if you are the only tall character (Kratos, Sweet Tooth), but there's so much going on sometimes I find myself watching the other characters not mine!  Fat Princess is pretty easy to see.

Another gripe is the weapons switch on you, I'd rather always have circle be your ranged, square fast and triangle heavy.  Something like that, but it definitely appears to randomly switch what the buttons do.

Game looks good on both systems.  Matches are pretty quick and easy to get into.

I did better on PS3 than Vita but I played first on Vita so there's that too.  Either way I did horrible on both, with only two times getting positive points (the rest were negative lol).  Both times were with Kratos.  I couldn't do a thing with Sly.

I guess I need to play more, and the single player portions in the game might boost your skills too.  It just didn't feel like I had a lot of control over my fate.  More practice might make it more enjoyable.  Plus more characters will be nice.  I guess I just still have mixed feelings about how fun it will be if you just get pummeled every time since there isn't anything else online - no story, no big environments to goof around in etc.

EDIT.  I'm going to make sure my son plays the beta and gives me input.  Even with cross-buy, it's still $55 to drop which could be saved or spent on a game that might get played more.  I'm not too worried about the Vita, with LBP and ACIIIL, not to mention Plus coming to Vita, I'm not concerned about content.  My son also is way more into the Skyrim, AC landscape of games than fighters.  I'm afraid the novelty of seeing sackboy fight Kratos etc. would wear off quickly.

EDIT EDIT.  Dang, sittin' here I've almost convinced myself to cancel the pre-order :-\   Too many other games to play, not to mention I can totally see this coming to the PS+ IGC down the road.

Cancelled the pre-order.  My son enjoyed the Beta a bit, but had similar frustrations as me.  It's not his typical genre anyways.  I told him, if he wants it Christmas is coming and he can put it out there for grandparents to get him (same will be for LBPK).  The boy gets enough games for no reason due to my gaming habits, I figure I have no need to get this just on the chance he'll play it.  He's got to want it more than other options to ask for it for a gift!

I still think it's a totall ripe candidate for PS+ IGC at some point too.  ;D
