Well I'm disappointed that they're going with AMD, but I'm thinking they're really trying to keep their price down compared to the PS3 launch.  AMD is doing pretty poorly lately.  Both Nvidia and Intel are making much more powerful products.

If those rumors are true, I likely will not be buying a PS4

I don't think any of the iritations I would have with these changes would stop me from buying one, but they would affect how long I wait to get one, at what price I'd be willing to pay, and how many games I'll buy for it.  Of course it comes into play what games are made exclusively for it (and any restrictions they have).

More rumors that the PS4 will be coming next year.  Not download only, but there's also strong signs that Sony is partnering with Gaikai or Onlive.  That kind of has me worried about what graphics hardware they're going to bother putting in it.

I thought the rumor was with streaming games on PS3, the PS4 could be put off even longer.  I don't know why exactly, but for some reason the future of gaming has me worried lately.

The slow pace of improvement of the US internet infrastructure is partially what has me worried...

Though still waiting on Google Fiber. and Verizon just announced a 300MB/s tier, not that they're able to be in my town.  ::)  Still slower than a lot of European connections, not to mention Japan (Korea, etc).

I just wanna get off my current 150kbps, but also not have to worry about caps.  My speed tier doesn't have a cap because it's already so slow.

150kbps - I assume that's your upload speed not your download speed, right?

oh and here's an interesting read concerning the cloud gaming:

Nope.  That's my download speed.  :-[

I doubt it, but I wonder if my dad has gotten this email yet.

Of course we'll still have to pay more for a faster speed...  We've had the same speed for so long and even the price for that keeps increasing...  Makes no sense.

Funny that our non-existent cap for our speed will increase in size...  ::) middlefinger.jpg

So if Sony do sign such a contract, then Microsoft starts trying to open negotiations with OnLive or GaiKai, could Sony turn around to them and sing 'Hey, you! Get off of my cloud!'?

Not much unless somebody else in my house is online.  Online multiplayer games don't actually need much bandwidth.

Jack says being the best is better than the cheapest, or first.  I have to say, I agree - but this misses the point that even at it's highest price point, the PS3 was still a better deal considering free online play, rechargeable controllers, wifi built in, etc, etc. etc.  Nonetheless this is what he says about PS4...

Worried about the AMD CPU rumor, especially with their latest CPUs vs Intel.
