MISSION GUIDE - Part 6

Back to Mission Guide Index

Mission 101:
Adolescent Male Lion
Location: Kiwanja Plain (Faru Kopje)
Special Requirements: None.
Tips: One of my favorite missions. The kopje in question is in the southwest of Kiwanja Plain; drive there to see the younger male lions without fully grown manes. See if you can spot one atop the rocks, too!

Mission 102:
What Has the Mystery Creature Been Eating? (No video e-mail)
Location: Kiwanja Plain (Nyati Kopje)
Special Requirements: You are submitting the animal skull itself, not a picture of it.
Tips: This is a mission you must accept. This mission asks you to figure out what the Mystery Animal has been eating – you a picture of his footprints earlier in the game. Drive out to the northwestern kopje in Kiwanja to discover the remains.

Mission 103:
Lizard
Location: Lake Heroe
Special Requirements: None.
[b[Tips:[/b] This is a mission you must accept. It is asking for any lizard that you can find; I took a picture of the agama at the base of the path to Mt. Hakuna Matata.

Mission 104:
Fight of the Lion (Big Game #19)
Location: Kiwanja Plain (Simba Kopje)
Special Requirements: None.
Tips: This is a mission that you must accept. It looks like those younger lions are causing trouble; drive out to Simba Kopje to see what develops.

Mission 105:
Zebra Herd at Night
Location: Duma Steppe (Awali Oasis)
Special Requirements: Your picture must include several (at least 2) zebra, at night.
Tips: Try Awali Oasis in Duma Steppe, though you can also find zebra in Kiwanja Plain.

Mission 106:
White Rhino Close-up
Location: Duma Steppe
Special Requirements: None.
Tips: Just get as close as you can to the white rhino.

Mission 107:
Black Rhino Close-up
Location: Lake Heroe (Cape Tree)
Special Requirements: None.
Tips: Get as close as you can.

Mission 108:
Cheetah in the Sunset
Location: Duma Steppe
Special Requirements: Must be taken in portrait mode.
Tips: None.

Tip of the Day: When driving out to complete this mission, it’s likely that you’ll trigger Big Game 18 – Cheetah on the Car. There’s no accompanying mission e-mail, so just enjoy “the ride.”

Mission 109:
Fever Trees
Location: Kiboko Swamp (Fever Trees)
Special Requirements: Must be taken with the Trap Cam.
Tips: The icon for the Trap Cam can be found at the north of the cluster of Fever trees. Make sure you are in the picture, too.

Mission 110:
Scavengers
Location: Duma Steppe (Bone Tree)
Special Requirements: Must be taken with the Trap Cam.
Tips: Make sure you have at least one Marabou Stork and one other vulture in the shot.

Mission 111:
Dikidiki Fountain in the Morning
Location: Lake Heroe (Dikidiki Fountain)
Special Requirements: Must be taken in the early morning.
Tips: Try camping overnight in Lake Heroe to make sure you get to Dikidiki Fountain in time (Select “Yes” when the prompt comes up at sundown).

Mission 112:
Ratel
Location: Kiboko Swamp (Baobab Trees)
Special Requirements: None.
Tips: This is a night mission.

Tip of the Day: Don’t forget to ID the Ratel by sending its picture via the first e-mail.

Mission 114:
King Cheetah
Location: Choroa Gorge (Kubwa Rock)
Special Requirements: None.
Tips: This is a mission you must accept. The king cheetah can be found all the way at the top of the rock.

Tip of the Day: Don’t forget to ID the big guy by sending his picture via the first e-mail.

Mission 115:
Pygmy Hippo
Location: Kiboko Swamp (northeast island)
Special Requirements: Must be taken with the Trap Cam.
Tips: This is a mission you must accept. You’ll have to set up the Trap Cam so that it captures the ridiculously shy pygmy hippo, which comes out of the swampland to the east only when he thinks it is safe. You can try hiding behind the termite mound to trick him into thinking you have left.

Tip of the Day: Don’t forget to ID the hippo by sending its picture via the first e-mail.

Mission 116:
Black Leopard
Location: Duma Steppe (Awali Oasis)
Special Requirements: Must be taken at night.
Tips: This is a night mission that you must accept. You won’t get to pick which area to go to, so just enjoy the ride and keep an eye out for the leopard.

Tip of the Day: Don’t forget to ID the leopard by sending its picture via the first e-mail.

Mission 117:
Okapi
Location: Lake Heroe (Dikidiki Fountain)
Special Requirements: None.
Tips: Drive out to DikiDiki Fountain and you should trigger a cut scene.

Tip of the Day: Don’t forget to send the Okapi’s picture via the first e-mail.

Mission 118:
Balloon Ride
Location: Kiwanja Plain.
Special Requirements: None.
Tips: This is a mission you must accept, and it’s more or less the end of Afrika/Hakuna Matata. You’ll be taken to a hot air balloon where you’ll soar majestically over Kiwanja Plain. Along the ride, you’ll encounter Big Game #20, Lion vs. African Elephant. And you’ll also finally get a glimpse of the Mystery Creature that’s been leaving its tracks and leftover meals all over Kiwanja – it’s the
Barbary Lion! Make sure to snap a picture.

Important: You can’t replay this mission once it’s done, so I’d recommend saving your game BEFORE playing it. As it’s one of the coolest sequences in the game, it’d be a shame to never be able to come back to it.

Mission 119:
Secretary Bird
Location: Duma Steppe (Bone Tree)
Special Requirements: None.
Tips: Just head towards the Bone Tree, you should see some along the way.

Tip of the Day: Don’t forget to ID this new bird.

Mission 120:
Aardvark
Location: Choroa Gorge (near entrance or along the water’s edge)
Special Requirements: The Aardvark can only be found at night, and only after you have received the e-mail for this mission.
Tips: Stop the Jeep just after the drive starts to look around for it. If you don’t see it, check along the river.

Tip of the Day: Don’t forget to ID the aardvark by sending its picture via the first e-mail.

Mission 121:
Bongo
Location: Lake Heroe (Cape Tree)
Special Requirements: None.
Tips: Check around the Black Rhino’s territory to get a glimpse of this spectacular animal.

Tip of the Day: Don’t forget to ID the bongo by sending its picture via the first e-mail.

Around this time, you should be able to find the Bat-Eared Fox on a night safari in Lake Heroe. Check around DikiDiki Fountain. Make sure you hunt it down and ID it by sending a picture via the first e-mail.

You should also be able to find the Tsetse Fly on one of the tent flaps at Base Camp. Make sure to ID it, also.

As you can see, the baby Black Rhino has also made an appearance. ID him, too.

Loose Ends:
If you send the picture of the Barbary Lion via the first e-mail, you’ll get lots
of extra cash.  This was the mystery animal.

Tool #20 is a green bottle that can be found at the base of Polepole Falls in
Choroa Gorge – just be careful getting to it!
