MISSION GUIDE - Part 4

Back to Mission Guide Index

Mission 61:
Hippo with Baby
Location: Kiboko Swamp (towards the center of the map)
Special Requirements: None.
Tips: With or without the adult Hippopotamus - the client will still accept the picture as long as the baby is in it.

Tip of the Day: Remember to submit your photo to HQ as well via the first e-mail. This adds the 3D animated model of the baby Hippopotamus to the Field Guide.

Mission 62:
Animal Skulls
Location: Duma Steppe (Bone Tree), Kiwanja Plain (Kongoti Wild), Kiwanja Plain (Mamba Beach)
Special Requirements: Collect 3 animal skulls - Wildebeest, Thomson's Gazelle and Eland (from left to right). You will be submitting the skulls themselves, not pictures of them.
Tips: You need to collect all 3 animal skulls before you can reply to the client's e-mail request. The wildebeest can be found at Mamba Beach in Kiwanja Plain. The Eland can be found in Kongoti Wild in Kiwanja Plain. The Thomson’s Gazelle can be found at the Bone Tree in Duma Steppe.

Mission 64:
Lion vs. African Buffalo (Big Game #10)
Location: Kiboko Swamp (northwest of the map)
Special Requirements: None.
Tips: Simply drive to where the buffalo usually congregate to trigger this Big Game Event.

Tip of the Day: Remember to submit your photo to HQ as well via the first e-mail. This adds the 3D animated model of the baby African Buffalo to the Field Guide.

Mission 65:
Crittercam
Location: Kiwanja Plain (somewhere near Simba Kopje)
Special Requirements: None.
Tips: This is a mission you must accept. Just look for the collared lioness that appeared in Big Game #10.

Mission 66:
Lion (male)
Location: Kiwanja Plain (near Simba Kopje)
Special Requirements: Must be taken in portrait mode.
Tips: This is a mission you must accept. Take a good picture because it will end up on the front cover of an issue of the National Geographic magazine!
Tip of the Day: Remember to submit your photo to HQ as well via the first e-mail. This adds the 3D animated model of the African Lion to the Field Guide.

Mission 67:
Spotted Hyenas’ Ripping Off (Big Game #11)
Location: Duma Steppe (where the cheetah usually hangs out, in the northeast of the map)
Special Requirements: None.
Tips: This is a mission you must accept. Just drive to the cheetah’s hangout and you’ll trigger this Big Game Event.

Mission 68:
Nile Crocodile’s Ambush (Big Game #12)
Location: Kiwanja Plain (Mamba Beach)
Special Requirements: None.
Tips: This is a mission you must accept. After accepting, just drive out to Mamba Beach to trigger the cut scene.

Tip of the Day: By now, the Eland should have appeared in Kiwanja Plain, somewhere around the Simba Kopje. Take a picture of him and send it via the first e-mail. This is the only way to unlock Mission 46.

Mission 69:
Dik-Dik In Bush
Location: Lake Heroe (Dikidiki Fountain)
Special Requirements: Must use Trap Cam.
Tips: You will receive a field report via the e-mail (pictured). Make a trip down to the Lake Heroe area to activate the cut scene. The mission will appear in the in-box the following morning. Simply accept the mission and drive back to Dikidiki Fountain to take the picture.

Note: The completion of this mission unlocks CAM-10 (animal camera) in the AFRIKA Viewer.

Important: After completing this mission, drive to the southeast corner of Duma Steppe. You will trigger Big Game #9, Fight of White Rhinoceros. There is no accompanying e-mail for this mission. After it’s over, make sure you ID the white rhino by sending a picture of it via the first email. This will ensure that you get Mission 77 in your mailbox.

You may also now be able to spot the Black-backed Jackal in Duma, though you’ll have a chance to get him later on anyway.

Mission 71:
View from Mt. Hakuna Matata
Location: Lake Heroe (Mt. Hakuna Matata)
Special Requirements: Must use the Trap Cam; you must be in the picture.
Tips: You may have already taken this picture on your first climb up the mountain; if so, just send it to HQ for an easy grade!

Mission 72:
Leopard Tortoise
Location: Choroa Gorge (Kobe Sands)
Special Requirements: Take the picture with the R/C Operated Cam (another tortoise).
Tips: Walking around the Kobe Sands area will trigger a cut scene revealing the tortoise; once this happens, you can use the R/C camera on him. He will only appear once you’ve received the e-mail about him, though.

Tip of the Day: Remember to submit your photo to HQ as well via the first e-mail. This adds the 3D animated model of the Leopard Tortoise to the Field Guide.

Mission 73:
Pelican Sound Recording
Location: Kiboko Swamp (middle-east of the map)
Special Requirements: Capture the sound that the pelican makes.
Tips: Another sound recording mission.

Mission 74:
Elephant in the Mud
Location: Kiwanja Plain (Chui Kopje)
Special Requirements: None.
Tips: Go to the muddy area where the warthog family hangs out.

Mission 75:
Footprints in the Mud
Location: Kiboko Swamp
Special Requirements: None.
Tips: Go to the Baobab trees.
Tip of the day: Around this time, you should be able to find the Waterbuck in Kiboko Swamp, near the entrance. Make sure to take a picture of it and send it via the first e-mail.

Mission 76:
Masai Man
Location: Kiwanja Plain (Masai Tree)
Special Requirements: Must be taken with the Trap Cam, and you must be in the picture.
Tips: Take your time to shoot a great picture because you will receive a complimentary copy of the published magazine article (with your photo in it) for the Bookshelf back at Base Camp!

If the e-mail in-box is empty after the completion of this mission, please refer to the tips for Mission 069.

Mission 77:
White Rhinoceros with Baby
Location: Duma Steppe (southeast)
Special Requirements: The adult White Rhinoceros must be in the picture with its baby.
Tips: Take your time to shoot a great picture because you will receive a complimentary copy of the published magazine article (with your photo in it) for the Bookshelf back at Base Camp!

Tip of the Day: Remember to submit your photo to HQ as well via the first e-mail. This adds the 3D animated model of the baby White Rhinoceros to the Field Guide.

Mission 80:
Footprints in the Mud #2
Location: Kiwanja Plain (Chui Kopje)
Special Requirements: Must be taken in portrait mode.
Tips: This is a mission you must accept. Drive to Kiwanja and talk to the Masai fellow there – he’ll mention that he’s seen a new animal over at one of the kopjes (Chui Kopje). Drive to it to prompt a cut scene revealing the footprints in the mud left by a Mystery Creature. There is an icon for the Remote Cam here, but you don’t have to use it.
